If your team is leading in the DM match, do you get damage penalized as well? Or does the opposing team just get a boost?

Tala Says:  Nope!  The minimum damage dealt when teams are tied cannot and will not reduce any further.  Only when the other team leads will you gain damage advantages.  This applies in DM and TD.  Hope it helps!

How is the winning team decided in the event of a tie?

Craig Says: In the event of a tie (in TD) The team with the highest combined teamscore will win (all of the players on that side added up)

Example: Both teams have 1 touchdown
Team 1 Team 2
Player 1     30                Player 2     31
Player 3     16                Player 4     11
Total 46                        Total 42
Team 1 Will win, because they have a bigger total of 46.

Does the counter sword actually reach incredibly far, or is the game usually just lagging when someone hits me from 15 feet away?
Is is possible to 1hit someone with the railgun if you hit them in the lower torso? I’ve actually watched shots hit me there and kill me from full life before, and I was wondering if it was lag or if it’s actually possible. Sorry about the email, I’m not really comfortable giving it out.

Tala Says:  First off, the Counter-Sword’s attack range is greatly exaggerated in the forward direction.  You can test this in a friendly room.  You’ll be suprised how far it can hit!  However, you are correct in assuming lag.  A lot of the time, that range clips you on their side, even though you’ve gotten far from it.  This is lag induced, and if they hit you once, they can continue doing it.  As for railgun, if you don’t have +30 hp, they can 1 hit you with a torso shot.  If you have less than 120 hp, they can 1 hit you with a torso shot. A fully charged railgun can land 120 damage to a person’s torso.  It may be lag, however, in such cases that it actually did 1 hit you with full hp.  As for the e-mail, only Kat and I can see it, and we’re nice, we promise!  We won’t distribute it for any reason.  I understand concern, but don’t worry!  Hope it helps!

This sounds noobish but when your invisble only your teamate can see you uless the enemy is using detect right?

Craig Says: Correct, Although it is easy to spot an invisible player as you will see a somewhat distorted effect most of the time.

I’ve heard someone say that he/she was recording the match. How can I do that?

Craig Says: You can use a screen recording such as Fraps which can be found at http://www.fraps.com/ The program will allow you to record to .avi .
After recording, you will want to “Re-Encode” the video by using Windows Movie Maker and saving the file ( I can make a tutorial on this if you need)

Will charging a railgun/cannonade shot also compromise your cover?

Tala says: Yes! Using railgun while invisible will reveal your location in many ways, one being the fact that the energy at the end of the gun is still visible.  This also applies to cannonade.  Hope it helps!

Caliostro says: As an addendum, just charging up the railgun/cannonade, besides showing the weapon’s “glow” will also turn invisibility off. Invisibility goes off about a second after you click mouse button 1 for any reason.

For some reason i have stop recieveing pens while playing i just lvled to lvl 10 and th eonly thing i am recieveing now is exp . how do i recieve pens again?

Caliostro says:  This might be due to the Farming prevention system.  Quoting Axium on a similar topic: “Hello Igorcs, this occurs to many other players of not receiving PEN recompensation after a match due to our Anti-Farming Prevention System implemented into S4 League. It ensures that players do not farm in matches to abuse PEN on S4 League.

After 8 hours of cumulative gameplay, users receive 50% PEN per game. And after 12 hours of cumulative gameplay, users receive 0% PEN per game. The servers reset every 24 hours, meaning midnight in Germany. Berlin is approximately 9 hours ahead of PST and 6 hours ahead of EST so for Americans, the servers reset at 3 o’clock (PST) in the afternoon and 6 o’clock (EST) in the evening respectively.

So if you are still receiving no PEN in game matches now, you will need to wait till tomorrow when the servers reset again on S4 League before you can play for PEN in matches today.”

If this is not your issue, then you might need to contact alaplaya directly by submitting a ticket. Be sure to report it as a Critical issue as it is impairing your ability to play the game.

Erm im not sure if you cover technical problems, but every time i log on, at the server screen
(england germany etc.)it says :
‘Server list information not recieved’
and then when i join a server none of the channels come up (Rookie, Super rookie etc.).
Do you know how i can solve this?

Caliostro says:  Seems like a connection issue. Check if your firewall or router are blocking your connection to the alaplaya servers, make sure s4 is added to your firewall’s “exceptions” list. If that doesn’t work, you should submit a ticket to the alaplaya tech support.

When “farming” all players keep their score the same. Even if there are 3 players: ex) ending score = 2 / 2 /2 = 2 : 4, the game still ends in a draw, registering a “win” for all three players. How does that work?
Also, I’ve seen that kS4 handgun does not KB. How do the damage, rate of fire, spread, and clips differ?

Caliostro says:  Bad coding basically. The game is incapable of displaying a tie, so when one occurs it seems to pick a random winner. Not entirely sure if it’s random or if there is a specific parameter to define the winner in case of a tie, but honestly you get the same rewards so not a big issue imo.

Regarding  the handgun, our handgun is an entirely diferent weapon from the KS4 handgun. AFAIK, they differ mostly in damage and knockback, but since I haven’t tried the korean version, I can’t be sure. We’re actually testing this one before it’s adapted for both versions. We’ll publish more information on it (possibly a guide) as soon as a final version is released.

Pardon me, but i have a semi-serious problem:
Once i’m in game i can hear my character fine if a do any of the emotes, but once i enter a fight and do my first slash/fire first round, I seem to lose most of the sound in the game, at most i can faintly hear any HMGs the enemy might be using, but otherwise i can’t hear any emotes or gun sounds.

If you know what’s causing this and reply to my question, then please send me a notification email since i don’t come here often.

I think it might be related to Vista, but I’m not sure.

Certainly, this may be a problem that is related do your directx audio buffer, try the following.
1. Go to Start > Run
2. Type in ‘dxdiag’ (no quotes)
3. Go to the Sound Tab
4. With the slider next to Hardware Sound Acceleration Level, drag it down to Basic Acceleration
5. Close Dxdiag and try the game
6. if the above doesn’t work, go back and change the slider to ‘Full Acceleration’

When you leave a game and it says “your weapon and skill will have penalties” what does that mean?

This basically means that your weapons and skills that you have equipped will still lose durability, just as they do in a normal match.

Why does it seem that some players have godly defense while im stuck in the 1 shot,2shot,3 shots dead mode?…is their a way i can raise my defense without using ap items???

Your best bet is to use the Fumbi system, basically just save up a bunch of pen and ‘gamble’ it away when you get the Chance button, use it and select a +6 pants

How do people get there messages to be voiced when they say things like, “Defend the headquarters!” or This is your chance! Attack!”

This is done by the f1-6 keys when you press them, defaults will be said, also by going into the voice chat menu (Should be q or e on a default setup)
