Creating and viewing shared folders using Computer Management
- Right click on my computer (on the server) and go to manage
- Click on the (+) symbol next to the Shared Folders Object
- Click on Shares to view the shares that are being shared from the server
- To create a new share, right click in a white area in the box that lists the shares and go New Share
- The Share a folder wizard will appear, hit next
- Enter a path to the folder that you wish to share, once you have selected one press next
- Enter in a share name that you wish network users to see and if you wish, enter in a description if the name is not clear enough for the users to figure out
- Press next Select the Correct Permissions that you wish to have for the folder
- Press Finish
- Press Close or check the box that asks if you wish to create another shared folder.. if you wish to do so.
