Creating and viewing shared folders using Computer Management

  1. Right click on my computer (on the server) and go to manage
  2. Click on the (+) symbol next to the Shared Folders Object
  3. Click on Shares to view the shares that are being shared from the server
  4. To create a new share, right click in a white area in the box that lists the shares and go New Share
  5. The Share a folder wizard will appear, hit next
  6. Enter a path to the folder that you wish to share, once you have selected one press next
  7. Enter in a share name that you wish network users to see and if you wish, enter in a description if the name is not clear enough for the users to figure out
  8. Press next Select the Correct Permissions that you wish to have for the folder
  9. Press Finish
  10. Press Close or check the box that asks if you wish to create another shared folder.. if you wish to do so.
